Re is a reinsurance protocol. It pools stablecoin capital and uses it to take on real insurance risk, issuing tokenised receipts to the people who supplied the capital. Returns come from premiums when claims stay low, and losses come from claims when they do not. The exposure is to insured events in the physical world rather than to crypto markets, which makes it genuinely uncorrelated with the rest of this directory and genuinely harder to assess. Re operates on four chains.
