About TopOfBase

TopOfBase is a data site for the Base network. It answers one kind of question: what is actually happening on Base right now, and which apps are behind it.

What is here

• Rankings of Base protocols by value locked, DEX volume, perps, lending and yield.
• A directory with a page for each notable app, joined to its live numbers.
• A news feed filtered to stories genuinely about Base, plus Farcaster casts and hand-picked posts.
• Chain stats and side-by-side comparisons with the other large chains.
• Guides to bridging, wallets and getting started, plus network details and a status page.

Where the numbers come from

Protocol and chain data comes from DefiLlama, fetched on our servers and cached. Rankings and stats refresh about every ten minutes; the news feed every twenty. Each table carries a methodology note and a timestamp, and when DefiLlama is unreachable we show the last figures we hold and say so rather than showing an empty table.

News is aggregated from public RSS feeds. We show a headline, a one-sentence snippet and a link to the publisher — never the full article. Stories belong to the newsrooms that reported them.

What is not here

No newsletter, no price predictions, no paid listings, and no ratings of whether a protocol is a good investment. Numbers, context and links out.

Corrections

If a project page is wrong, a protocol is missing, or a ranking looks off, the fix is usually a one-line change to a file in this repository. Send a correction and it will be made.
