friend.tech was the breakout consumer application of Base's first year. It let people tokenise access to themselves: each account had shares that anyone could buy, with holders getting access to a private chat, and the price rising as more shares were bought. It drove an enormous share of Base's activity in late 2023 and then faded as sharply as it arrived. The residual value here is what remains in V1 contracts. It is a useful thing to keep listed, because it is the clearest example on Base of how quickly a consumer application can arrive and leave.
